Third wheel...Wes just has to get used to it.

This wasn't supposed to be the picture for today...it wasn't what I had planned, and really shouldn't be a picture at all. But more simply, this was what was going on while I was taking the picture that was supposed to be the picture of the day.  I was sitting with my back to the french door, with my camera focused on the twins doing something dangerous, holding Wes at bay between my legs...I was getting so irritated cuz he would not let me get my shot.  Then it hit me, this 365 exercise is supposed to be about my "everyday".  Well, nothing is more "true" about my real life than this!

Here are my twin babies...born 1 minute apart, weighing in at a difference of 1 LB. Now, almost 3, he weighs 6lbs more and stands 4 inches taller. But I'm starting to realize she will forever be his bodyguard...

Here is Luci doing her homework.  Her school uses iPads...this is a blessing and a curse.  I love that they are ahead in terms of technology, but I feel that social media is taking over our lives. Having my 5 year old mastering the iPad worries me for what she'll be like when she's 15...YIKES!!!

Meet 3 out of 4... This is us again, on yet another rainy day, rolling around on mommy's bed after going swimming in mommy's bath.  I love this picture cuz it pretty much sums up all three of their personalities right now.  Tripp, the cool, easy one always ready to say cheese...Penny on the verge of tears...and Wes, not yet adapting to life as a photographer's kid, wanting nothing to do with this picture. 

 

And this is the reason this project will be so challenging for me.  Since my three little ones are SO little, getting them to sit is so hard, and making them sit still is so not fair...

Happy Birthday baby boy!  Although you were a surprise, it was the best gift I've ever gotten...

Turning 1 has never been so sweet! 

 

What you can't see is the enormous cake that his sisters made for him.  He made the funniest face when he saw it for the first time...big and blue with sprinkles all over the top...I was a bit frightened too.  But that cake was made with so much love that made it irresistible!

It's raining out today, cold and gray...the twins are restless and want to go outside.  The only way to keep them happy (and me sane) is to let them take an hour long bath and then lounge around watching movies.  I try not to let them watch too much TV, but on a day like today, it's hard to determine what "too much" means...

Inspired by a few other photographers, I've decided to start my own 365 project. 

I'm hoping that this personal project will encourage me to take more photos of my little ones and document the silly things that happen on a daily basis.

1. This particular photo is of Wes recreating a picture I took of Tripp and Penny when they were the same age.  Wes is obviously too big to be sitting in this bowl...and with the head chop, he could be a 3 year old, for all you know.  But I love the random orange True Love heart in the center of the shot.  It's kinda true...as my last baby and a really good baby, for me it definitely is True Love.
